Project title: “Green Energy Transitions in Europe - Impacts on Biodiversity, Landscapes and Justice”

Description: JustBioSolar investigates the impacts of the rapid expansion of ground-mounted photovoltaic and agrivoltaic systems (GMPV) in rural landscapes, focusing on the trade-offs between climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and environmental justice. The project aims to contribute to science-based policymaking to ensure that the European energy transition does not come at the expense of biodiversity and local community wellbeing, by developing an integrated, interdisciplinary, and multi-scale understanding of GMPV-driven transformations in rural socio-ecological systems.
