EG-ICE International Workshop on Intelligent Computing in Engineering 2026
Would you like to join an intensive workshop, where you can engage with an international community of experts to explore the application of innovative and intelligent computing to engineering challenges?
The annual EG-ICE workshop makes this possible and will take place in Padova, Italy from 1st - 3rd of July 2026.
The event is organized by the University of Padova. The city beautifully blends urban life with rich cultural heritage and offers everything needed for an enjoyable and inspiring stay in the heart of the Veneto.
The EG-ICE International Workshop on Intelligent Computing in Engineering will bring together international experts working on the interface between advanced computing and modern engineering challenges. Many engineering tasks require open-world solution of challenges, such as supporting multi-actor collaboration, coping with approximate models, providing effective engineer-computer interaction, search in multi-dimensional solution spaces, accommodating uncertainty, including specialist domain knowledge, performing sensor-data interpretation and dealing with incomplete knowledge.
While computer science provides many useful concepts for resolution, adaptation is unavoidable. Most importantly, feedback from engineering challenges drives fundamental computer-science research. Competence and knowledge transfer goes both ways.
The conference is intended to be a single-track event focusing on defining strategic aspects of the interaction of computing with engineering challenges. Also, current proposals for supporting engineering challenges according to these aspects will be evaluated and compared. As in previous conferences, the promotion, dissemination and exchange of knowledge and ideas will be supported through discussion periods within each session.
About EG-ICE
The European Group for Intelligent Computing in Engineering (EG-ICE) was established in 1993 to advance research at the intersection of computing and engineering challenges. Its primary goal is to foster engineering informatics research across Europe by promoting collaboration among researchers, strengthening professional networks, and raising awareness of emerging developments in the field.
EG-ICE also maintains active connections with similar organizations worldwide and welcomes members from outside Europe. In addition, the group seeks to enhance industry awareness of advances in engineering informatics and their practical applications.
To achieve these objectives, EG-ICE organizes an annual workshop and actively promotes the dissemination and exchange of ideas, creating effective links between research, industry, and education. Participation in the EG-ICE 2026 Conference is open not only to engineers but also to computer scientists, architects, psychologists, and other interested professionals.
